Kolla Bolcha is one of many cooperatives in the recently formed Kata Muduga Union. Kolla Bolcha is in Agaro, Jimma where farmers are growing Ethiopian landraces at around 1900 masl. There are around 400 contributing families that are part of this cooperative. Cherries are delivered to a central washing station where they are depulped with a Brazilian mechanical depulper. The parchment is then fermented overnight and dried for 12-15 days.
Southwest Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of coffee and this beautiful lot is a great representation of the rich heritage found there.
